Several thousand people marched through the streets of Paris’ largest suburb on Saturday to denounce racism after the town’s newly elected black mayor, Bally Bagayoko, was subject to racist disinformation and remarks on social media and national television shows.

While that take is clearly unpopular, kinda the whole western world does. Sometimes we like to pretend its really just the US, and gloss over the fact that european colonialism and imperialism happened.

Theres a certain brand of racisim that flourishes in places where there is higher racial homogony, and it may be quieter, but it’s very real. You see it in the northern states in the US that are like almost entirely white where people have basically never seen a black person, and you see it plenty in europe.

The afd exists as a modern day party 😅. If someone said the US has a racism problem no one would reply with “thats a generalization”. Anywhere racism exists has a racism problem. And that certainly doesnt exclude europe.

What is the over/under on the odds on them being an American too? It usually seems to be that way.
