2025 was a year of significant progress for Budgie Desktop, as we finalized much of our efforts in our Wayland migration, to bring Budgie 10 to a close and enable us to focus our efforts on Budgie 11. Time to dive into our State of the Budgie to recap our efforts in 2025 and the goals for 2026.
It’s great to see more people using KDE’s technology for their own projects and we look forward to working together on improving support for the whole ecosystem.
Gtk is the reason I’ve never bothered to try Budgie, let alone recommend it. I look forward to seeing what they do with Qt. (I hope client-side window decorations are not involved.)
