The Danish version (see Wikipedia) is better because it uses marzipan instead of fondant.

The only time I would think fondant is superior to marzipan is if it will be shared with someone who is allergic to almonds. I don’t want anyone to die from my baking unless it’s by chocolate and it’s me.
