That takes care of the storage aspect, but what about the software running locally?
As far as I can see on the websites, they say that their services can be integrated into backup solutions, but they don’t tell what software to use

Galler is amazing! The chocolate, but also their spreads.
And it’s fair trade
You joke, but dark “Esspapier” with “pencils” made out of some form of icing were a thing for a while. The pencils were a bit like crayons and writing sucked, but it did kinda work.
I just checked, you can get pens with food dye for decorating.

I’m not holding snow against them, but their pedestrian infrastructure.
It’s great for bikes, no doubt, but sidewalks are ridiculously narrow, are not cleared from snow, and in some areas don’t even exist, so you have to walk on the bike path.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s very possible to get around on foot, but walking longer distances does not seem to be part of the city planning.
If the bike paths would be equally terrible, I wouldn’t even complain, but streets and bike paths are both well maintained.

In general I’m surprised how pedestrian unfriendly Danish cities are given how much space bikes get.
With the snow there recently was, bike lanes where free, while sidewalks where a mess.

Denmark has several exceptions from the Maastricht treaty, border controls being one of those.
It’s ridiculous and should finally stop

Better supported is a matter of definition I’d say. Sure, Mobilepay is better supported by stores, but Wero is already now supported by more countries.
Wero is backed by a broad consortium of banks and aims to be a pan-european payment solution, while Mobilepay has been around for a while and seems to be content with staying mainly in the Nordics. Ideally Mobilepay would be compatible with Wero, but I feel that they are quite protective of their market share

Yeah, I’m aware, but I would hope for only needing one app across Europe, and not one for central Europe, one for northern Europe etc.
Also easier for tourists, as you can only set up Mobilepay if you have a bank account in one of the supportes countries and if your Google store location is set to that country.

I agree, but especially since MobilePay announced the cooperation with a Portuguese payment app as far as I remember a while back, I was hoping they would jump faster on the Wero train.
I would just prefer generally a system relying on standard SEPA transfers, like Wero, instead of having yet another national standard.

I really hope Fennoscandinavia will join soon. I asked my bank and got a standard reply (paraphrased) “We do not reply to request like this individually. If anything happens, we’ll announce it on the website”

Depending on field, double-blind reviews are rare. In ecology I had maybe one or two reviews in 5 years that were double-blinded, normally you see the author list as a reviewer
Am biologist, can confirm.
Best I saw so far were muddy rubber boots and muddy cargo pants.
Neurobiology is more like #2 and #3 and stand out among ecologist.

The dev was shortly active on Matrix a few weeks ago. And I think the Friendica app is getting more love at the moment.
But I agree, it feels abandoned at the moment.

No love for Raccoon?

Strasbourg, France
And unfortunately pretty buggy.
I still use it though

2/5, completely unbelievable story telling. The script relies too much on random events to advance the story and create drama.
Just FYI, it has been in the news recently that Finland has the second highest unemployment rate in Europe, so jobs might be hard to find.
Also, unfortunately there have been case studies showing that folks with non-nordic names have a lower chance to get hired.
That being said, Finland is a lovely place to be.
Fair point, I meant parent -proof as in I can set it up on their computer and don’t need to fiddle with the CLI every now and then to get it back up running. Basically set and forget.
Edit: Looks like Filen will no longer offer lifetime plans for the pro tiers.
