i like the idea of this OS but it seems overly complicated. i run a few apps and a script to remove copiolet and other stuff.

oh maybe , i dont use brave or ios , just know you can watch youtube videos in brave with no ads.

so much yes. I just got mine a few days ago and I love it so much.

GrapheneOS has sandboxed play services that you can easily install to make sure apps work. my banking app only works with play store services so I installed them and set them to zero permissions. You can also make a second profile with nothing installed and switch when you need those apps. MicroG has never worked for me on any phone.

I just got a Pixel 9a and put GrapheneOS on it straight away . my battery with my current usage says 4 days hahah. my old phone was 1 day maybe. I loose my phone around the house , my friends know I don’t text back for awhile.

ya that’s true. I use multiple other things as well. Script to remove copilot and i forget how i got rid of Onedrive. Its a constant battle.

I bought mine from Telus … so i would think Telus gave them the money a long time ago for said phone and i’m just giving Telus back their money … now i’m not giving money or data to anyone.

I dunno i have put Mint on many computers including an 80 year old woman who just checks her email and news. No one ever has issues and i don’t get calls . I think Linux has a PR issue more than a “barrier” … I would say Mint “just works” great .

I ran this script to remove copilot and it installs a stub update to make it appear its still installed so M$ won’t try again… working so far.

for the most part if your using Chrome you don’t care about your privacy anyway …

I have two gmail accounts which i need for now but i check them with Thunderbird. I have to have Google play store and services on my phone because my banking app will not work without them, both stripped of permissions and no background data. I use Aurora store and F-Droid for everything else. All search engines at home and work changed to DDG or Ecosia. Organic Maps is ok , i read in this thread Comaps is good so i’m gonna try that. Firefox everywhere with either Brave, Ecosia or Chromium browser as backup.
