Yes, people should not be looking for ways to watch youtube secretly, but support alternative platforms that don’t censor and intimidate people?

Yeah, the title of this post is misinformation. If you read the article it says: “The government, however, has said the bill does not ban end-to-end encryption.” Even in extreme cases it says scanning will be required where “technically feasible.”
People need to relax and pay attention.
It was a big controversy years ago. You can take or leave the info. I don’t have the time to look it up.
Cryptostorm is a honeypot that was discovered years ago. I’m surprised anyone even talks about it still
LibreWolf is about as secure as a browser can get out of the box. Check out the stats here.
IVPN and Mullvad are probably the best VPNs if you simply want to transfer full view of all your internet activity from your ISP to one of these 2 companies. If you want to keep your internet movements private from everyone, use Tor browser. Its slower and doesn’t do udp, but it is much closer to real privacy than the commercial VPNs. Of course, if you are a high priority target of a large nation state, then Tor might not be enough for you, but for most people it works well for those things you want private. If you just want to watch movies, torrent and stuff like that, regular VPNs are the way to go.
Mega offers e2ee and good prices. Collaboration does not update correctly on mobile (android and ios). Besides that, works well.
Koofr is also very good with a full e2ee option for the paranoid. You can also pay with Monero which is important. Any service that is selling privacy but does not offer a private method of payment is half-assed. Mega only takes Btc and calls all other crypto “shitcoins.” Draw your own conclusions.
Proton Drive is well on the way but missing a lot of features and the smoothness of other cloud providers. I think they need 6-12 months to really be up to snuff.
Good security-wise, maybe. But who protects you from Apple? They have access to everything they so conveniently sync for you for free. That is neither secure nor private. The same goes for Google. People don’t understand how much of your stuff they have access to.
It’s not perfect but its the best we’ve got for now. Regular VPNs just shift spying capacity from you ISP to them. Tor together with VPN actually reduces your privacy. Some new platforms are being developed but don’t seem ready yet. Hoping…
Tor browser is great. If you use it for places like here you can speak and browse freely. This has become a luxury in our life now.
You can export from freeOTP+ Its great. You can back up to another password manager by simply copying the shared secret also. But I don’t think it’s available for iOS. Oh well, if you want more freedom and privacy, you’ll have to move to android.
Recommending iCloud keychain in a privacy forum??
You’re right. I discovered that after posting this. I’ll delete it. But video doesn’t play correctly when not enabled.
Now I went and checked Firefox and those same 2 settings are also set to False by default, BUT Firefox does not have the same cpu overuse problem when playing video that librewolf had before I changed these 2 settings. I am trying to figure out what’s going on so I can make a helpful recommendation.
The post you linked to recommends disabling hardware acceleration. This does not seem to be my issue. Also you told me to ask @librewolf but that leads back to this forum. Is there someone with that name or did you mean to make another post?
Yes, setting these 2 to True fixed the problem. I am curious if there was a security reason for this, or if it was just oversight.

Great concept but not stable enough for serious use.
