I am baffled that wrestling theater exists. It was cringe to me even as a young kid.
I have a dream. A dream of kaliaude code.
There are already models trained on reversing binaries too.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How to avoid hating the opposite gender after reading what they write online?English
2·2 days agoPeople take off their mask and become their true selves when they feel anonymous on the internet. It sucks to see how many people have no independent ethics or character depth. It is a hard lesson, but this is true of humans everywhere. These same people act completely differently to your face in person, but they are ultimately the ones that hurt you most. They are a minority. Use the opportunity to learn about them and observe them. Then you will be better at spotting them when they wear the mask of social norms and peer pressure.
Humans are tribal animals. We cannot escape that, but we can minimize it through self awareness. The number of perspectives, opinions, and intelligences are large. Everyone is stupid to someone, and in different ways at different times. The only stupid any of us can fix is within ourselves. Only worry about things you are able to change. Everything else is a waste of time. Sorry you had a bad encounter with someone.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Considering the fact that a lot of the Reddit mods are also Lemmy mods, what would be the mechanism to remove abusive mods here?English
8·3 days agoWe are too small for it to be a big issue here.
In all honestly, just try to talk to people. It does not always work. Some fuckwits are mods for the narcissistic idiocy. Be the change you want to see, and then push your way into the cultural discussion.
Like 90% of the time, sending a PM is more than adequate to curb behavior. Every mod action is harmful without exception, as proven by the prisoner’s dilemma in game theory. Negative feedback is incapable of producing positive outcomes. Adding as little negative feedback as possible creates the best environment for everyone.
If you want to be a mod, that means sorting out flags by reading into the situation from both sides. I will not tolerate bigotry or personal attacks of any kind. However, every individual has a right to all information, a right to skepticism, a right to error, and a right to protest in nonviolent forms aka the right to offend others. No one has a right to infringe on these same rights of others.
My personal feelings are irrelevant as a mod. I will not take actions against someone if I am participating in the conversation. I will flag the issue and PM another mod. I try to remember to sign my mod log messages because I have nothing to hide and despise any coward that lacks full transparency from a position of authority. I am the janitor. I clean up the messes. I read into the details of every flag. I am just as likely to take actions against the person that flagged the issue. I usually contact both parties in a PM too.
I have experienced many bad mods, but that is my catalyst. Everyone is valid, even if unpopular. Everyone has a right to error because that is a primary way that we learn. The only scope that I will bias heavily is any issue with diversity and especially any transgender negativity because the Fediverse is a safe heaven in that regard.
Dichotomous logic is a sign of stupidity and something to avoid with self awareness. If you are unwilling to reach out and take as little action as required, you a doing it for the wrong reasons and ultimately harmful. Immediate emotional reactions are harmful. Think stuff through from all perspectives and give every benefit of the doubt as possible. Everyone has a right to have a bad day too. Don’t let some halfwit reaction make their bad day worse even if you disagree strongly as a person. A good judge always separates their emotions from cognitive logic. Being a mod is not hard at all. One just has to care. The community is self regulating with flags that indicate when action is needed. Micromanagement is a mental disorder. The best communities are often those with inactive mods.
My favorite surprise language is very very Asian looking with a hillbilly southern accent and slang. Really any distinctly atypical phenotype mixed with redneck is fascinating. I can easily opt out of my southern accent. It is not my default. I find it funny how some people cannot switch it off.
That is where you are projecting nonsense into my words. I only speak for me and my experience. I never presume to speak for anyone else. I know what I do not know. I never claimed something was universal. I claimed that your universal is offensive and prejudiced me while trying not to be confrontational about that. If you wish to experience the misery I went through that is entirely up to you. Such is not universal. An intelligent person learns from their mistakes. A wise person learns from the mistakes of others. If they choose to listen or ask questions, sharing my experience gives others the chance at wisdom from what I have learned the hard way. I believe toxic and harmful relationships are universally bad. You are welcome to dispute that if you would like. If you are advocating for harming others, such spurious sadism is rather malevolent and disgusting from a sadistic type of person that lacks many levels of self awareness. That is most unlikely. Much more likely is the possibility you are projecting your own misery onto others, and if that is the case, I am sorry for your misfortune. I do not wish to state what is or is not. I am aware I do not know you and I certainly do not wish to steal your narrative voice.
For someone in a position like myself, I am not conventionally disabled. I am fully mobile, but unable to sit up or stand for more than a few minutes. Both are the same to me. I must stay laying down most of the time. I cannot even get dressed and travel someplace and retain any meaningful part of myself. I am in constant pain that never fades, and I will die young and in terrible misery. I love some stranger I have never met enough to avoid them. I do not wish to be their burden, to watch me falling apart and die young. There is no foolish fate in the world. No one is at a loss if I abstain. That is a special circumstance. Still for others, before I was like this, I would have been much better off if I had simply explored my curiosity and interests. The people I met along that path were many orders of magnitude better for me than those I found while looking.
You don’t understand what I have said. The idea that people must partner is nonsense. I am not required to be a beggar. Implying that everyone must pair is nonsense. I do not care where people meet. Being happy with yourself if far more critical when it comes to building a good relationship. I have been in many long term relationships. When I was young, I made the mistake of thinking I had to “find someone” and compromise. That was one of my dumbest moves in life. The idea that this is normal is idiotic and a main reason people get in terrible situations in life. Work on you first, then you will find someone that intersects your life in naturally compatible ways. If not, that is fine too. Going looking only results in finding people that like to go looking. That results in misery unless you want to spend your life looking.
You are also inferring that my preferred sexual orientation as asexual is invalid. That prejudice is offensive to me in its primitive lack of self awareness and depth.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to gain outside information / communicate safely if your government becomes oppressive and shuts down the internet?English
1·9 days agoI never said that. You are crazy. You have no grounded scope of the subject as a whole. I’m talking about far more than you realize, but have no way to fix your ignorance because you have multiple errors stacking and have not given me enough information to diagnose those issues. I do not mean any of that as an insult or to be mean. I was young and ignorant too. You have made assumptions that are incorrect, and I would like to help but cannot.
Y’all are stupid halfwits. I’m in social isolation from physical disability.

1·9 days agoAnyone can detect any transmitted radio signals. The ARRL books explain how. I’m too lazy to go look at my copy to photograph the section of the physical book in my room. The frequency licensing is totally irrelevant here. That will just be changed and noise will get broadcast over the band. If you keep trying to transmit, someone will find you. You are literally creating a beacon in all directions that points at you. Everyone will be listening, but one by one there will be no one to listen to. This is standard stuff. Every military unit has radio counter measures. You are very limited in real output power already. The big boys will blow you away because they have no such restrictions. It is one of the reasons why there are power limits. Now if you can hide something useful and encrypted near the noise floor, that is one real possibility, but in this age of software defined radio, you are still going to get caught.
Some of us do not have a choice at all.
Why does anyone need to have such a desperate mentality? Being alone is far better than being with a terrible person.
When source 4chan implied vets the story.
Are y’all coin flip relationships quality? I want enough time I do not think about that person in any type of addictive or reminiscent context. I want my relationships to be clean slate with a clear head. I do not care if that takes months or years.
This guy uses the find command

Use linux-hardware.org to search for a relevant kernel scan. I think that should have some kind of potential hardware identification for the USB hub and PCI trees. That may clue you in about the architecture and devices. I’m no expert on motherboards or the evolution of hardware devices. However, it could be as simple as a USB hub chip on the board. I only know that these things exist from around 5 years ago when I was researching how I might make a USB 3 to PCIE adaptor for an Intel Core Duo machine. I was looking into adding a faster external drive port to libreboot hardware.
From what I recall, the CPU has a ton of connections on its various I/O pins, (like you indicated checking for bent pins). However each register port has a ton of compromises to make at the board design level. Like, the hardware spec of the CPU says it has way way more stuff than is actually possible to implement in practice. The base CPU spec may say it has a half dozen USB ports and three 32 bit PCI lanes or whatnot, but when one gets into the weeds of hardware design, one quickly finds stuff like one USB port is hardware available in practice in the same hardware register as something like the Ethernet controller, but if you use it, the Ethernet speed is halved, and the other five hardware USB ports are only available if one disables all the PCI lanes. So instead, the hardware designer uses a GPIO pin against the enable pin of a USB hub to PCI converter chip that sits on the same PCI bus as all other external hardware. This was also very common in older generations of laptops. There was often a small daughter board that had a set of ports for USB, SD cards, Ethernet, etc., and this worked in a similar topology where it was a PCI device.
The first rule of troubleshooting is “thou shall check ground”. Beyond this, if you happen to discover that the USB ports are handled by such a controller, if you look up the datasheet and pinout, the Enable pin in the first to check after confirming power is present. Also be sure you have the kernel module or driver necessary to identify this device. Worst case scenario, if you identify there is an external controller, you could simply replace it. There is no programming in such a chip. It is just a simple hot air rework swap job. Alternatively, maybe try an external card or adaptor on one of the other ports or on PCI.
