We know this model has been a key part of the Affinity offering and we are committed to continue to offer perpetual licenses in the future.
If we do offer a subscription, it will only ever be as an option alongside the perpetual model, for those who prefer it.

I’m always weary of the never-ending march towards everything monopolizing into like three companies, but it seems like this might not be so bad, at least for the near future.
While it’s (probably) not the case for Valve, I think it’s pretty clear that Microsoft’s end goal is endless subscription fees and you owning nothing. And there’s a good chance of them succeeding at that as long as the primary OS for PC gaming is Windows.
