@VeSpectagles I wouldn’t make myself dependent on whether the *key instance is by the same admins as the lemmy instance. The *key softwares are generally recommended if you want a lot of functions and a modern interface. I particularly like the Antennas / News Pickers, with which the content can be structured very well according to your own search terms (a kind of topic-specific timelines). The interaction with Lemmy also works well.

@3dmvr In my experience, it works best with #Friendica. Firstly, it is the most widely federated (in addition to activity pub also #Diaspora + if required also Bluesky and Tumblr).
Secondly, in my experience, posts from the #Fediverse are displayed best and most completely. For example, this post by #Lemmy or #Peertube posts are displayed in full here, whereas Mastodon, for example, has problems with posts with headings, does not display video descriptions, and does not display all images.

@Jerry Interesting, but the video shows a completely different way of using #Friendica than I use it.
This is mainly about the newsfeeds, that - which is one speciality of Friendica - can integrate many different protocols, so that there are connections not only to the Fediverse in the narrower sense (= Activity Pub), but also to Bluesky, Tumblr, Threads, Diaspora etc.

In contrast, I am only interested in the Fediverse connections (in the broader sense, i.e. including Diaspora).

The other side (which I find more interesting) is Friendica’s advantages, how you can actively interact from Friendica and how you can create your own content, and structure received content + , the good way Fediverse content is displayed,.

Zwar sind die Optionen etwas begrenzt und auch etwas seltsam (warum sollte etwa beim Laden das Wlan eingeschaltet werden? 🤔 oder alle 2 Stunden? )

… aber wenn ich das Wlan ausschalte, dann auf Standby und dann entsperre, wird es wieder eingeschaltet. Scheint also soweit zu funktionieren.
Den “Smarter Wifi Manager” konnte ich nicht installieren. (edit: konnte ihn dann doch installieren, aber sofort kam die Meldung “Diese App möchte Zugriff auf deinen Standort haben” > wieder deinstalliert)
Es gab auch mal wifi Manager, mit denen man genauer einstellen konnte, z.B. bestimmte Netzwerke whitelisten. Aber die Apps aus diesem Bereich in #Fdroid sind zum Großteil nicht gerade aktuell: android.izzysoft.de/applists/c…

@wolf ja, danke, muss ich mir mal genauer anschauen, hatte es aber so verstanden, dass die auch über die Standortdienste funktionieren (wobei zumindest WifiAutomatic keine Berechtigung für den Standort erfordert (Wifi Manager schon)

@SomeBoyo @datenschutz wie im Artikel beschrieben: die Entwicklung des #UAD ist eingestellt (“Project Abandoned”), der Fork UAD-ng führt es mW fast unverändert weiter, unterstützt aber bspw. noch einige Hersteller mehr.
Ausprobieren konnte ich es aber nicht, da das Programm nur Sinn mach bzw. startet, wenn man ein entsprechendes Gerät anschließt.

@JerukPurut404 Yes, if you want to use Google apps, you should leave it on. With the #UniversalAndroidDebloater, there are different levels of how much you want to delete/deactivate. With the first two, it only affects apps that you can easily reinstall if necessary.

Das ist wahrscheinlich nicht so, dass “alle von r/de kommen” bzw. überhaupt Reddit-Erfahrung haben oder überhaupt Reddit kennen.
Ich habe auch weder Reddit-Erfahrung noch habe ich c/de abonniert.
Dazu kommt auch, dass #Lemmy Teil des #Fediverse ist und damit bleiben Diskussionen auch nicht unbedingt innerhalb einer Community, sondern im Prinzip kann sich jeder Fediverse-User einklinken.
Ich habe zwar auch einen Lemmy-Account, aber hier antworte ich gerade bspw. von #Friendica aus. Auch von Mastodon etc. aus können Lemmy-Communitys bzw. -Accounts abonniert und mitdiskutiert werden.
Daher gerne erläutern bzw. andersrum auch nachfragen, wenn Begriffe nicht bekannt sind, denn hier kommen viele unterschiedliche Menschen zusammen, mit ganz verschiedenen Vorkenntnissen, Erfahrungen und Zugängen.
