This has been a common pattern globally. A lot of other wealthy countries only have stable (desired for economic growth) population numbers/growth only because of large scale immigration. ie. US and Canada. Which countries like South Korea, Japan, or China are still quite strict on.

Recently I think they make it so couples can register their marriage in any jurisdiction. And not have to go to one of the couple’s birth town.

I couldn’t fully understand whether or not their children’s Hukou will now be in the location of their marriage registration. But it’s a good step forward and they saw a brief spike in marriage registration overall.
It’s so weird that they’ve been so stubborn about it for so long, even as their cities expand to accommodate migrants and the population growth is slowed.

You have an end point that’s pretty close, and that’s great! If you know that your load will lighten up after, keep at it.
Rely on your partner and friends for connection and help you through it. Be frank about your feelings. The people who turn to alcohol and adultery because of stress are the people that have been unfortunately told to keep it in and shoulder everything on their own, or unfortunately don’t have support. Find support and healthy outlets rather than turning to destructive substances or actions that are hard to take back.
Keep track of what’s important to you in the long run in the end.
