News@lemmy.world•The Economist: Don't go after the rich to fix broken budgets.
11·1 hour agoOh my bad, you can’t read.
It all makes sense now.
Buy and rent two $300k houses for an income of $100k a year? Where can you buy $300k houses that rent for $4166.66 a month after expenses?
You can buy 2 more $300k houses, rent them out, and now you have $100k to live off of with thousands of dollars of passive income every month.
So ironic you’re telling me my reading comprehension needs work, lol.

11·2 hours agoHey man, you’re going to believe whatever you want to avoid admitting you’re getting played.
Nobody expects more from you.
mighty quest against homeownership?
Lol. If you sell your $1 million house and buy a $300k house you still have $700k leftover to live off of. You can buy 2 more $300k houses, rent them out, and now you have $100k to live off of with thousands of dollars of passive income every month.
Arguing that $1 million net worth “is not enough” is fucking stupid.
I ask again, what is your net worth? If it’s less than $1 million, which we all know it is, then why do you think people who have more than you should get even more before you? It’s a very useful-idiot mentality to have, but since it’s impossible for that to apply to you, what else could it be?
I don’t have the energy to keep engaging with you, so I’m just going to downvote and move on.
Have a nice day.
Can you make your argument without resorting to inaccurate analogies? That way we can focus on the topic instead of getting derailed.
If you’re not making posts that the community members want to see, then they are justified in downvoting you so that they do their part to influence the culture of the community.
The fact that you’re only targeting downvoters and not upvoters leads me to believe you want to surround yourself with yes-men instead of authentic humans.
If you think 5 people downvoting you is what’s stopping your posts from gaining visibility, then you are simply incorrect. Lemmy is still very small and most communities that aren’t tech or politics aren’t “visible” because they lack activity.
And? Upvotes increase visibility.
Why is one bad but the other is acceptable?
It’s also not an issue in “smaller communities” because there’s not enough content to bury heavily-downvoted posts anyways.
Not everyone is worth engaging with.
How come you’re only focusing on downvotes but not upvotes? People can give their approval without question but if they disapprove then they must explain themselves? Sounds like toxic positivity.

1·4 hours agoIf you’re not a sellout, you’ll have an easier time getting views on Peertube than youtube or twitch.
The corporate platforms will probably promote you for a bit at first to get you hooked, and then they’ll bury you under everyone else playing “the game.”

I don’t think most people realize how most people are being herded like farm animals. They certainly don’t show it in their actions.
