Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wikipeter founded the website in 1993 when he wanted to know more about model trains without having to visit the library
3·2 days agoWikipedia may be flawed, it’s because people are flawed. That’s why the scientific method and editors exist. That does not only apply to Wikipedia, but science in general. Because I’ve seen some finely aged rubbish with an exquisitely greasy texture in the science community. IMHO.

6·3 days agoI can’t boycott them, I never had Spotify to begin with. :(
“i’m a carnivore, a real meat eater.”
Where I live, that is a reality. It’s a dream given form. No driving, no hyper-attentive babysitting imbeciles to avoid a crash. I board a train, then I simply set off.
IMHO: The only way to win the game is to not play. Nobody takes the job title or their salary with them. Enjoy life, prepare for retirement and don’t get ass fucked by the stupid staus symbols everyone wants you to buy.
Simple solution: question everything if you disagree with it. If you agree, it must be correct.
- A useful idiot’s handbook to the world.
People forgot that it took almost 2,000 years to get this right back. We had it in the Roman Republic even though flawed. And now… If it’s gone, it’s gone.

131·6 days agoI remember a time when international law still was worth a damn. Now it seems every time someone finds an international law inconvenient, it gets ignored.

Europe@feddit.org•Heritage Foundation openly calls for end of European UnionEnglish
1·11 days agoOh dear. At least where I’m from, the conservatives are still moderates. Why do so many conservatives become extremists?

Europe@feddit.org•Heritage Foundation openly calls for end of European UnionEnglish
4·11 days agoOrban and Putin are extremists, as they seek to destroy democracy. I never understood how people fail to recognise this. An “opinion” that wants to destroy democracy itself is not an opinion, it’s a danger. And that’s the reason why extremists must be excluded from the democratic process because you can’t have an “opinion” that wants to destroy all other opinions and place itself on top in a democratic system. Democracy only works if all parties agree on democracy.

273·11 days agoPlease stop calling american right wing extremists “conservatives”. European/real conservatives are a moderate and pro-democracy ideology and even though I disagree with their view points, they deserve better than to be bunched in with neo-Nazi extremists.

20·12 days agoI never understood how companies like Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, etc. can commit crimes such as espionage for the NSA over years, and everyone will still give them their personal property without any concern whatsoever. The problem is public infrastructure uses these products with the pre-bundled viruses, meaning even if you are practicing perfect infosec, it still doesn’t matter. Because the U.S. can still get it through just asking Microsoft or Apple to fork it over.
Jake Paul forgot that he can only challenge senior citizens.

Same here. Flatpak’s sandbox fights against anything that could take over your input devices. Problem is, programmes like sunshine and solaar need this. :(
