  • I wouldn’t say 0 issues as I have occasional clipboard issues with XWayland apps or KWin crashing results in loss of work. I also find my HP Anyware PCoIP performance to be slightly downgraded compared to X11.

However, the upsides, such as multi-refresh rate and what feels like smoother performance on my RX 6900 XT (home, Tuxedo OS) and Vega 56 (office, KDE Neon) far outweigh it.

    Probably 24.10

But I need to use Kubuntu as the software we primarily need to use it on supports 22.04 & 20.04.

I could use Neon, but I need to test to be sure I can mirror the repo with no problems, with means I may need to wait for Neon with 24.04, which may take a while.

  • The thing is that these contractors shouldn’t expect to be in the same level as a regular employee in terms of importance. And if they didn’t fire these people, but they simply didn’t bother to renew the contract, then that solidifies that position.

This past few months (can’t recall how long it has been) have been full of layoffs across various industries. Their position just became even weaker.

  • Safe to assume them that Apple will utilize the bare minimum for RCS.

When Apple implements RCS, was there any information on whether it’ll be dependent on the carrier or if Apple will build their own RCS infrastructure? Cuz I suspect it’ll be the former.

And if Apple does build their own RCS infrastructure, I highly doubt it’ll have E2E encryption as that’s essentially iMessage. Will E2E encryption work if one side is Apple and the other side is Google?

And for any RCS messages that doesn’t go through Google, does this mean that RCS is still being used sans E2E encryption? What does it look like in the Messages app?
