  • One of the great things about Lemmy is that you can control your user experience. No algorithms, no “suggestions” being forced on you, no ads, no data mining, no spez/Musk/Zuck. So curate my Lemmy space heavily and enjoy the peace and quiet and slow pace. R*ddit was my only social media for years so Lemmy is similar enough to that to be familiar and useful, but different enough to be worth using.

  • A lot of improvements, but some weird problems. Jerboa finally allowed me to log in but not much else. Connect is working better, but won’t allow me to reply to one particular post (“incorrect language” or something). The browser version and wefwef are slow and glitchy - my comment about birds ended up in a conversation about Lemmy apps. I don’t know anything about tech stuff but I get the impression that people are working very hard to fix all the issues. And the spezidus wouldn’t be making things easy. Looking forward to a bigger better Lemmy!

  • Also, I know it’s typed out somewhere, but I can’t find it and couldn’t understand it anyway. Could someone explain to me as if I’m technologically useless and just a bit dense generally, how to connect with communities on other instances? Something about copying links and pasting them somewhere? I’m on jerboa if that means anything.
