2·3 days agoI use Syncthing, so more-or-less the same as your Nextcloud setup, and have no complaints about speed. In what way is syncing sluggish? That Joplin takes too long while reading your local filesystem? Like this should have taken less than ten seconds?

9·6 days agoIndividual modules may usually be powers of two, but a machine can make use of multiple mismatched modules. 64+16+4+4+2=90
I do still think that AI overview answer is bogus, but it’s not impossible.
EDIT: Now that I think of it, I have definitely seen individual consumer DIMMs in 24, 48, or 96 GB. So, not always just powers of two.

21·6 days agoThat is not a thing. But every donation platform out there that the various developers use has a “recurring donation” option that is almost what you are looking for.

3·10 days agoIn general, yes. Using ceramic static bearings is standard for trackballs because it is more smooth than the ball just grinding against plastic or something.
This design for the trackball holder is made to use three BTUs as the primary bearings, then includes a spot for a single static bearing that just serves to add stability. That static bearing does really feel optional here, as the trackball touches just the three BTUs 99% of the time. Quick movements that jerk the ball a bit and make it touch the static bearing are rare, and could probably just be avoided by adjusting your pointing technique to just not let that happen.
Here is a blog post comparing different types of common trackball bearings: https://kbd.news/Trackball-bearing-comparison-1757.html

10·12 days agoJust yesterday, I was idly wondering if Termux could be used to run Syncthing instead of using questionable Android apps. Neat to see that it’s working, and setting it up just now was as simple as on any other Linux device.

81·15 days agoAnd what does the change log entry mean practically? People who type th will have their input changed to “th” before posting?
It means that it used to be replaced when viewing a comment with a thorn on PieFed. The comment still contains a thorn in the database. With the update, it is no longer replaced.
For example, here is this post from a PieFed instance that is still on v1.4.0, which just shows th everywhere. On the other hand, here is this post from a PieFed instance running the v1.5.0 update, showing the thorn.

Neat, in IronFox, that is already one of the search providers to choose from to set as the default. I had to manually add it to KISS, bit it is working great
