  • Bullshit excuse. When Republicans are in the minority they are obstructionist fucks, getting their message out and actual media attention with performative bullshit, generally being effective as the opposition party. When Dems are in the minority all you get is whiney “somebody do something!” bleets from leadership. This is why we lose, our representatives are unwilling to fight for the people. Moron voters see Trump and Republicans as actually willing to try to do something to improve their lives, while Dems complain about process to cable news hosts nobody watches. The Trump admin is acting lawlessly, and Dems meet that moment by asking Republicans in Congress to do something about it? Fucking hell, do something, show up, fight, inspire, lead.

  • I look forward to Republicans in the House holding hearings to get to the bottom of this. Because Republicans held hearings when they accused social media of censoring conservative opinions. Because Republicans care about free speech. And even though this effects free speech of the other party, Republicans still care about free speech, right? Republicans will hold social media companies accountable for any censorship of political speech, right? Guys? There are going to be hearings right? Well, at least if not journalists are going to press those committee members about the inconsistency, right? Journalists will surely do their jobs. Right guys?

  • In my own polianish way, I find this cultaral exchange on rednote both wholesome and also it gives me hope for something more. The Chinese people are obviously oppressed by their government, but it’s not that much better here (corporate oligarchy) and is about to get a lot worse. Two peoples whose overlords have tried to convince them that the other country is an enemy, coming together and finding common ground. Maybe working together for a better common outcome, despite both governments trying to keep them apart. I can dream anyway.

  • Growing up, if you had told me half or more of America would end up elevating a rapist to the presidency and prostrating themselves at his feet, I’d have laughed you out of the room. This nation has sunk LOW.

Bill Clinton won reelection. Now, granted, he was not Trump levels, he was a piece of shit who at the very least abused his role and power over women. Now, even after me too, he’s a beloved elder statesman. Just saying, the nation has sunk lower, but I don’t know that’s a lot lower than where we were when we were kids.

  • Can’t beat lawnchair Larry

    A taste:

Larry planned to sever the anchor and lazily float to a height of about 30 feet above the backyard, where he would enjoy a few hours of flight before coming back down. But things didn’t work out quite as Larry planned.

When his friends cut the cord anchoring the lawnchair to his Jeep, he did not float lazily up to 30 feet. Instead he streaked into the LA sky as if shot from a cannon, pulled by the lift of 45 helium balloons, holding 33 cubic feet of helium each.

He didn’t level off at 100 feet, nor did he level off at 1000 feet. After climbing and climbing, he leveled off at 16,000 feet.

At that height he felt he couldn’t risk shooting any of the balloons, lest he unbalance the load and really find himself in trouble. So he stayed there, drifting cold and frightened with his beer and sandwiches, for more than 14 hours. He crossed the primary approach corridor of LAX, where startled Trans World Airlines and Delta Airlines pilots radioed in reports of the strange sight.

  • If that was Biden’s motivation, then where is Fauci’s pardon? Or Adam “Enemy from Within” Schiff’s pardon? Or what about Liz Chenney who is supposed to face treason charges according to Trump, where is her pardon? What about Jack Smith, where is his pardon? Kash Patel has an appendix in his book which is a literal enemies and prosecution list, any pardons for anyone on that list?

If Biden was concerned about the Trump justice department going after his political enemies, and Biden wanted to protect those people, there’s probably 80+ pardons he should be handing out.

But instead he only issued one. For his son. So Biden is either actually concerned about overreach of the Trump justice department but he’s only willing to save his son, and leave everyone else hanging. Or, Biden isn’t actually that concerned with the Trump justice department and is just abusing his pardon power to protect his shithead son from the consequences of his own actions. Either way, fuck Joe Biden.

  • Biden was objectively less coherent than Trump. And I don’t say that to praise Trump, it’s just reality. Also the media did a great job of sane washing Trump, cutting out specific sentences he said, rather than letting voters see the full incoherent rambling. But Trump did a better job of forming sentences, I’m sorry but that’s true. Go back and listen to Biden’s full remarks when he made the garbage comment, somewhere in that word salad it sounded like he was about to refer to his home town as being in Puerto Rico, realizing his mistake he pivoted and just shot out the garbage remark.

On the plus side, voters are going to be treated to 4 years of uninterrupted exposure to Trump’s ramblings as his mind continues to diminish. The media can’t sane wash that.

  • Yeah his very limited contributions to the campaign sure reminded us all of how great he was as a campaigner. Like when they confined him to a zoom call with supporters and he word saladed his way into calling Trump supporters “garbage”. Biden, a real master of messaging, he surely would have overcome the 15 point deficit he had in the swing states, the 80% plus of all voters saying he was too old to have another term, being 30 points underwater in his approval rating, and inspired the masses with his sharp populist messaging.

Ffs Biden should never have tried to run for reelection.

  • The “Run Up” podcast had an episode following the Working Families Party while they were out knocking on doors for Harris in a poor projects type neighborhood. The first lady they talk to is hesitant to vote for Harris because she’s a prosecutor who jailed black men for weed. While they are talking and the canvasser is trying to convince her, her neighbor jumps in and he says something to the effect of “Harris is a woman and world leaders won’t respect her and get us in a lot of trouble”.

Is sexism/racism the reason Harris lost? No, I personally at this point think it has more to do with the Democratic party’s inability to offer solutions for working families - Dems are the center right party representing corporate interests and the elite while paying lip service to actual regular people, MAGA is viewed as the party of the common man, as bullshit as that is it’s what voters feel. I personally think the only way forward is an actual progressive platform which addresses fundamental economic unfairness in the system, and candidates who can connect to and explain that platform to regular folk of all races and demographics.

But you can’t deny that sexism/racism didn’t play a significant role in the loss.
