☝️underrated comment. I’ve been doing remote tech support & customer service for a few years and taught myself to smile whenever I’m typing out a message to a customer. Even though the customer can’t see it, it nudges my head in the right direction and makes the work more tolerable.
Here’s the batch she whipped up a few days ago, it’s pepperoni, “breakfast meat” (sort of like breakfast sausage), and the green chile flavor that I used for the sandwich:
She’s been making it for years and has a lot of different recipes. I think this one is relatively new, I think it was just green chile powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little bit of salt and pepper mixed in with the dry gluten prior to prep. Lately she cooks it in a steamer which somehow gives it a very firm, even texture that works really well for sandwich meats.
Naw, I didn’t use any condiments on the sandwich but it wasn’t dry at all. The seitan and veggies were sautéed in oil so it was a sloppy mess by the time I was halfway through it 😋
My wife made it, she does it all the time as it’s one of our primary proteins. What you’re describing doesn’t sound like seitan to me.
Thanks! They were delicious 😋
What’s wrong with sand? Why do you seem to hate it?
It’s way better fresh! The taste on its own is nice and light, and it’s much easier to season when it is fresh (compared to marinating prepared tofu) since you can put your seasonings right there in the mold with the curds. Once I made a batch with basil and sun-dried tomato in it, so good 🧑🍳👌
Really not that hard to make, just takes some time :)
I tried Tuno a couple of years ago and had a different experience. If it’s the best of its type, then I don’t even want to think about what the others are like.
Upvote for the bidet, I got one a couple of years ago and love it.
Homeowner’s insurance, hands down.
I used to bitch every time I made a payment and then one day my house burned to the ground. The insurance payout for the house itself was twice what I paid for the house, and then they paid more to cover the contents of the house.
Yeah, I don’t complain about paying that bill anymore :)
I don’t even have kids and yet this is me.
Thanks!
I used this one: https://www.thespruceeats.com/how-to-make-tofu-1001574
Thanks! This was my third attempt and I’m finally happy with the result.
Eating some of it now with some noodles, it’s really great! Fresh is so much better than manufactured. Don’t put it off, give it a try :)
Are we not doing “phrasing” anymore?
