Having less nukes is not the same as disarmament it’s not even comparable. They dropped two nukes and did that much destruction in Japan, 2, and those were 1940s nukes, even with this change the US would still have thousands of nukes.

Ukraine went to 0 nukes, the US has 5000+ nukes, how would that even be comparable if the US let’s say went down to 1000 nukes. That’s still 1000 nukes more than 0.

Yeah, I think it’s very deceptive in how it markets itself. I think the only reason you see it so much in sites like lemmy and reddit is it went viral during the 2016 US election, where discussions of “fake news” and media bias really took off for the first time and people have just been trusting it ever since.
I’m only pointing out he’s trained as a physical therapist to highlight that he is not trained in a field relevant to this whatsoever, you can be a critical thinker without being a journalist or going to college, but this person just decided they would be the arbiter of what media bias was in the 2016 US election and has just run with it. Most people do not realize this is just some guy’s opinions, if it was named “David Van Zandt’s blog on media bias” people would probably trust it less than naming it “MediaBiasFactCheck” which makes it sound like it’s not just the opinions of one random dude.
Press TV is Iranian state media, I don’t think you should either implictly trust what they are reporting or implictly distrust what they are reporting, you have to look at what is being claimed in an article by article basis and decide whether what they are saying is well sourced and seems accurate. You shouldn’t just “trust the site” for any news source in general, that is the opposite of critical thinking.

Dave Van Zandt is a registered Non-Affiliated voter who values evidence-based reporting. Since High School (a long time ago), Dave has been interested in politics and noticed as a kid the same newspaper report in two different papers was very different in their tone. You are trusting the opinions of a physical therapist who identifies as a “Non-Affiliated” voter, I’m not saying you have to like PressTV, it is perfectly valid to not trust their reporting if you have reasons not to, but I think you can determine whether you trust it on your own, instead of relying on this “Non-Affiliated” loser to inform your opinions.
I would recommend not downloading any app that isn’t open source that has that permission enabled to begin with.
I think the conventional wisom is diet is more important than exercise in losing weight, although I think most people would recommend working out once a week regardless if you would lose weight or not, basically any working out would be positive if you aren’t at all, it couldn’t hurt to do sit ups and push ups and see where that takes you.

I said in a foss one, I don’t think the foss developers are conspiring to get rid of your contacts, maybe for apple you might have to hope the developer doesn’t get burnt out, but the android foss community is pretty robust, but if you’re that paranoid just put them in a txt file or a spreadsheet.
You might still have to use a gmail account for this though, depending on if your email works with it.
There’s also Nextcloud which would be self hosted.
And the extremely low tech solution of just having them offline in a foss contacts app and exporting backups to your storage.
If you’re gonna drop this kind of comment please get in the habit of sourcing your claims. No one should take your word for this without at least knowing where your claims are coming from, show your sources.

I disagree with your definition of original source. If AP writes an article, then Yahoo news takes that article and attributes it to the AP and links to the AP article, and publishes it, that yahoo news article does not become the original source the AP article is the origanal source.
In the case we are discussing the Mondoweiss article is a full day older, I don’t understand where you are coming from. If you want to post the reprinted version that is fine, but you are not posting the original article when you post a reprinted version.

I don’t know what you think redistribution is at that point if you think there isn’t an original source.

She will not pardon Adams, she politcally largely agrees with him, other than being embaressed about his flagrant corruption, they are both centrist to rightwing Democrats. This article is making it seem like she’s some kind of dyed in the wool progressive who really wants to get rid of someone like him which she is absolutely not.
