Normal weapon damage doesn’t increase with surprise attacks. It’s this way only with dirk and assassin blade. But yes, lunging through doors is still useful.

I don’t see that written in the ability description

Lunge always hits, so there is no need to add a surprise attack
Okay, I will use direct messages with possible future bug reports. I just saw others doing it this way as well, didn’t know what was better.
Wait, how exactly do you have 320 health?
That’s not the problem. I am not talking about the scrolls themselves. I know they are random each game. When you open the description, their symbol doesn’t show up. I wrote that, actually - i said “the arrow” or “the butterfly”. I am talking about this:

The “guy” from wand of living earth?
Oh, I actually didn’t know that enemies don’t drop loot when you are ascending… I ascended only a few times.
Just speculating, but maybe a gnoll shaman dropped it when you killed him without noticing (“you hear something die in a distance” in chat).
One more thing to consider are “on eat” effects… In some situations I’d rather have 3x8 turns of recharging and a bit of alchemical energy in place of healing (as a mage)

1·1 year agoMaybe it takes a turn to update the floor, so it’s actually aware of itself being water?

Pixel Dungeon@lemmy.world•I put every possible upgrade into Studded Gloves and beat the gameEnglish
1·1 year agoGot to +15, but had them equipped all the time. I used only reforge with the blacksmith, on my armor and ring. Def a fun challenge!(But the ascent was quite tedious…)

1·1 year agoBlast wave doesn’t work on phantom piranha, as far as I know. They just teleport the moment you hit them. Chains should work though…

2·1 year agoI’m here to report it’s not that bad. Maybe I just got lucky, but I managed to beat the game second try with this challenge. (Just because the first time I got a wand of transfusion on floor two and quit :D). Warden with camouflage. Finished with 14 healing pots. I did use reforge for rings and armor though, it does not say “upgrade”, when you do it 🫣 (and I forgot). But I think it would be very much doable without it. The barkskin and infinite invisibility are an unbelievable combo.

Nice idea nonetheless, after finally beating six challenges a week ago, it was nice not to have them active 😆.

Pixel Dungeon@lemmy.world•It took me 207 lost games to beat the boss for the first time. Then I ascended.English
2·2 years agoCongratulations, but that’s some heavily upgraded armor you have there… After +6 or +7 it’s really not worth it to upgrade your armor - due to diminishing returns you are better off dumping the SOUs into your rings or weapon

Pixel Dungeon@lemmy.world•It bugs me when there is an obvious path forward, but a single undiscovered tile (or a trap) causes my character to take a path all the way around the level. Share your ideas for fixes.English
2·2 years agoToggles are a way to end with cluttered screens and an unpleasant visual experience of the game. It’s a lazy solution. I really like your idea that doesn’t use the toggle, and works similarly to the continue button. It could be set for a specific distance ratio by default, not bothering new players (eg. without needing more setup).
To the point with enemies I made is solved by ratio of direct distance:planned distance, so I won’t bother 😆.
I agree with your points and I get why you would want the system in the game, but nonetheless, I just prefer to suffer ig :D. I view the pathfinding algorithm as a tool that I need to learn how to use 🤷, and the occasional hurdles are a part of the system. Idk, maybe I’m the only one that is weird in this way.

5·2 years agoThe last run you made shows up on the leaderboard, other than that, I don’t think you can access the seed. Maybe via the extended leaderboard if you buy the game.

3·2 years agoJust guessing, but maybe mobs don’t reveal secret traps, but items do? This has happened to me a few times also.
You can manipulate which inventory expansion appears in the shop. The game picks the one that will free up the most space in your inventory, so just drop some stuff at boss level depth so the type of items you have most of are the targeted.
