I use “ass hat” and “clusterfuck” regularly.
It’s because everything is American politics. There’s only two kinds of people in this world: Americans, and Americans who don’t yet know they’re American. We’re just giving the Americans who don’t yet know their own little space so they don’t annoy us
That’s because Elon Musk invented the the X11 windowing system and Richard Stallman stole it from him, clearly.
Because people in power need excuses to hit people they don’t like without having to pay weregild for it. That’s it, that’s the entire purpose of laws. The whole “protecting society” theory is a convenient smokescreen that we’ve all bought into through generations upon generations of Stockholm syndrome and the fact that we all also want to hit people and be justified in doing so from time to time.
I have a lower-mid tier (Ryzen7 2700 or 2700x, I don’t exactly remember right now, Nvidia GTX 1650, 16gigs of RAM,) and I can game just fine at 1080p. Granted I’m not exactly worried about 4K or 666 FPS or whatever the hardcore gamers are into these days, but most games work well with proton and steam. Some even run better through proton than they do in Windows natively.
I only separate out /home, /boot, and I usually have a separate /steam partition because I have a separate terabyte drive just for games.
What do you mean, “your own country with no fireworks?” Listen, buddy, the whole world celebrates the Fourth of July, when Jesus descended from Heaven to bring freedom l the idea of Freedom and the Constitution to our founding fathers!
Hell Comes to Frogtown.
It’s an eighties B-movie starring Rowdy Roddy Piper that has a very “started out as a porno before they realized it was even too cheesy and ridiculous for eighties porn and turned it into a sci-fi flick” quality to it, but I love the shit out of that movie and will happily watch it over and over again.
Also, the Super Mario Bros movie. Not the new one, the nineties shitfest with Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo.
The original Deus Ex. The storyline, the way the game world reacted to your actions and made it feel like your actions were relevant to the world around you instead of just being a static place where stuff happened to you…
I’ve always loved Mace Windu telling someone “your chances come in two sizes: slim and fat” in an old Star Wars Novell called Shatterpoint.
