Was pretty scared going in but now I’m glad I did it. 0 kids, haven’t ever wanted them. Lost a ltr because the woman I was seeing decided she did want kids after 5 years together (where we previously agreed we both did not want them).
After we split I got a little foot loose with dating and realized I should just make my decision to be childless my own and permanent, why risk it for myself or others.
Class struggles are something we can all get behind
Bay area, and same. I miss four seasons (Virginia is closest I’ve been so mild winters). The housing market, politics, and long term climate prospects of the northeast make it pretty damn appealing.
I have a beater 97 Corolla. Don’t care about stuff hitting it one bit. I wanna get some kind of funny sticker that’s like “at least it’s not a Tesla” or something like that
I’ve done it 7 or 8 times, I just ask if it’s possible to opt out. Never had an issue.
That sucks. I’ve never had an issue opting out after finding out it’s possible, maybe done it 7 or 8 times. I smile and ask “is it possible to opt out of that?”
I’m curious if something would happen if they told you no, when you do in fact have that right. I’m so anxious when I’m there (about nothing, just an anxious guy) that if they told me I couldn’t opt out I’d just fall in and let the thing scan me.

Off topic, but how do you like graphene? I am thinking of making the switch on a pixel 7a, but I have a fear it’ll be like having Linux on my phone where things randomly don’t work and then I have the hobby where I make it work

Mainstream tech adoption needs a neat clean wrapper imo. I think that’s the biggest missing piece to fediverse, people want pretty, simple, plug and play.
If a wrapper like that could be put on top of/combined with all the good qualities that the fediverse offers, I think it would create optimal conditions for slow adoption.
I’m honestly not sure it’s even vindictive. Maybe in some cases, it’s a big complicated issue.
We get such different news in the age of algorithms, they may not even see it as vindictive. I think it’s easy to pull back from a group that paints your identity as a villain, and I think that’s likely some of it.
I think it’s too complex to attribute to one thing, I think you’re right that the alt right social media pipeline is real and an issue.
I’m just saying I understand not identifying with a group who trash an identity a person belongs to. They just disengage. Nobody likes being put into a box that paints them as a villain.
Just my opinion of course, the left (as a social group) can examine the current discourse and try to adjust, maybe like framing it as a class struggle or a liberty struggle, or continue being divisive and risk being overridden.
Or discourse like that could be why young men are choosing the right.

Yeah that phenomenon is odd. She’s married with a kid now, maybe just 2 years later. Glad it’s not me pretty much daily we had a dog together and I was skeptical lol
