    Shouldn’t the vet be happy because the right he sought to protect was honored?

      I’ve only been lectured on the Pledge, etc, by family members of veterans. All the veterans I know are fully aware that the United States is a pyramid scheme and its wars are blood money for oil.

      And yet, the bar is SO low that I’m impressed the comic isn’t quite as condescendingly preachy and obnoxious as it could be.

      (Okay, maybe the editor refused to print the version the cartoonist really wanted to run, but still.)

    I’d love to know what war is being referenced where a wounded veteran is still alive to be a part of this scenario. What recent war can we say our military was fighting to defend our rights? Afghanistan? Iraq? Korea? Vietnam? I mean, seriously, when’s the last time a foreign power attacked our rights?

      Shhh, you’ll make people notice that it’s local powers attacking our rights and not some evil foreign power of the week.
