Man, Mymblemother doesn’t really show up much in the books or the shows.
Seems like another character that is way too real to not be based on someone Jansson knew. Has too many kids, puts zero effort into actually raising any of them.

Was he ever a villain, though? A recurring antagonist, perhaps, but not really a villain.
Yeah, I’d say you’re technically correct, but: 1) I didn’t say that Abdullah was a villain himself, and indeed he didn’t serve that purpose in the Tintin books, 2) it was just a bit of hyperbole that’s hard to seriously pin on the Mymble child. Still, the Moomins are huge about melodrama, so I think the term works a little more easily for this strip.
