NewPipe
+1 for NewPipe. Though if you view youtube on a browser with an adblocker (e.g. Brave, Firefox with uBlock Origin) you can still skip all the ads
NewPipe is superior, except when watching something like Mr.Beast. I don’t know why but when I watch some videos from him I hear Arabic sound.
Libretube 👍🏼
LibreTube here too. I have multiple devices so the subscription sync with a Piped account is nice (so nice that it is the reason I use it over Newpipe).
Thats what i use
Newpipe sponsorblock
Can you link to this? There seems to be multiple forks
This one is on IzzyOnDroid and has been working great for me
NewPipe on Fdroid
Newpipe is the way to go!
Download videos, download audio, have no ads, listen to audio with the screen locked.
I love Newpipe!
Yeah and the devs are fast AF. When Google intentionally changes YouTube API in order to break third party apps it gets fixed in hours.
Revanced
+1
Revanced is like YT but without the crappy stuff. Such a perfect app.
ReVanced 💁🏾♂️
As we’re on the FOSS community it’s worth noting that ReVanced is a set of patches for the regular YouTube app.
It’s still great though and I’d recommend if that doesn’t bother you.
YouTube ReVanced for me.
LibreTube since I wasn’t a fan of ReVanceds changes
Clipious = invidious front end
New pipe= Free Libre YouTube client with video downloader
thanks , I didn’t know about Clipious
newpipe, brave or firefox web version to see things related to my account
If you want to continue using any of them, you should probably uninstall any Chrome-based browser now: https://techreport.com/news/google-tries-to-defend-its-web-environment-integrity-as-critics-slam-it-as-dangerous/
“Through WEI, Google aims to help websites weed out bots by verifying that the visitors on their domains are actual users.”
In other words, if this gets implemented it is likely that Youtube will block anything that doesn’t look like a “real browser” (i.e. Chrome), so no videos in alternative apps anymore.
I use SkyTube, but NewPipe is also very good. LibreTube and VueTube look promising, but I don’t have the right hardware to run them.
I also would like to know 😊
