    Wasn’t there the story about that one bloke who dug up a helmet like this, later variety so a bit more head shaped right, put it on and couldn’t get the bloody thing off again can’t remember how they managed maybe a bit of olive oil idk

    He probably saw how cool he looked in the photo and made wearing that his entire personality. Thats what I’d do at least.

    Maybe the dude just wanted to try an ancient perspective? Don’t know about the details of a helmet from that time - but I equate it to wearing your friends powerful subscription glasses. Agree with other post’s though - most likely he put it on to make a funny.

    I am curious: Would a find like this be a huge “Payday”? Is it someone else’s property you just found (it belongs to whomever funded the dig)?
