It was bad enough when it was just cable news networks fighting for ratings. Now that engagement-first feeds are involved we have hundreds of billions of dollars dependent on making sure people are as upset “engaged” as possible.
If we just said no campaigning before the second Tuesday in August we’d eliminate a lot wrong with our politics. Suddenly you don’t need to raise billions of dollars to be president because there’s no way to spend it all in that amount of time. The cost to purchase other seats goes down similarly.

I like your suggestion, except I’d go with October. September at the earliest. This all year every year election season bullshit has to go.
