That’s not a NAS, that’s a whole-ass PC, though with only 8gb RAM. And way overpriced for the spec.

Messaging apps often implement various APIs for better Android integration. But even if they don’t, any management service can implement certain APIs, like the accessibility API, that gives them access to everything each app is doing. In that case, it can’t necessarily read the messages as data, but it can record your screen as image or video.

If the app has decrypted messages, device management can see them.

And how do those apps prevent device management from accessing the messages when they’re decrypted?

The sending and receiving ends are the devices, not the humans. If you don’t want the device to see it, you’ll need to do the encryption and decryption in your head.

The default assumption everyone had was E2EE message data like RCS would be private.
It is. It can’t be snooped on by third parties. The person that owns and controls your device is not a third party. In this case, that is your employer.

Race?

That’s a Dell dock, isn’t it? Dell PCs use the same system.

“Safe” meaning somewhere it won’t be destroyed by fire, flood, hurricane, etc. that destroys the primary copy.

Ok great. So now Israel is just committing a secular genocide without the veneer of religion. I don’t see that that’s better.

Yes, but even an “empty” tanker will still have some level of oil in the tanks, plus the fuel in their tanks, plus whatever else is on board.

You could probably renew your subscription for a month and get access. They’re very slow to actually disable or delete anything, for this reason.
This is why we verify this kind of job.

Either they themselves are dumb as fuck, or they just don’t care because they benefit, because it’s hurting the people they hate, or at least the people they’re told to hate.

Well yes, you take the stairs to the next level.

I just aim for “good enough”. Does it work, does it meet my needs? That’s good enough, even if it isn’t exactly the right way.
Like right now I have a system that needs manual intervention if I shut it down, or it’ll come back up non-functional. But it works well enough so I’ll just fix that eventually. I like to spend my free time doing more social or productive stuff.

I think a self-hosted platform as a service is just called a platform

If you want the next level up, set up a log collector like graylog or something.
The US would never allow it. Too many military resources in Texas.

Nothing is truly safe. Risk is relative. Assess the risk and decide for yourself.
It’s got most stuff on it. They’d include the entire repo if they could, but a dvd only fits 8gb.
