It’s planned to be open source in the future. Who knows really. Just thought it was an interesting development for Linux.

No like I can’t even load a YouTube video. And it crashed several times.
they want the ability to slip in some proprietary components
Why is that?
We have wildly different definitions of the word discrimination.
LOL I don’t know what else you could possibly call it.
Discriminatory? Are you for real?
Are you? You’re discriminating against an entire country, 146 million people, based on the actions of their government?

Not yet but they’re working on it:

Linux@lemmy.ml•Orion for Linux released in Early BetaEnglish
232·11 hours agoOrion is the browser from Kagi. Notably it is based on Apple’s webkit (I think GNOME web is the only other one available for Linux) and supports extensions from both Firefox and Chrome.
Using it very briefly I’d say it’s more like Alpha currently…

321·1 day agoFord doesn’t care about what you want, they care about what people will buy. And people overwhelmingly do not buy single cab trucks.
This truck is from a bygone era where they were used by farmers and tradespeople. These days people buy them as status symbols to commute to the office.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Google Chrome is (finally) coming to ARM64 LinuxEnglish
101·2 days agoI’m honestly regularly shocked at how many people use Chrome on Linux. Turns out many people actually use Linux for the user experience and flexibility, and not for privacy.
I remember one time I had a coworker sit down next to me with her MacBook, iPhone, iPad and iWatch and that was an “aha!” moment for me. She had spent like 5x more than she would have if 1 or 2 devices could do all of those things.
