  • I used to have a microwave that you could stop at 0 if you hit the right time. Before the finish beeps but still at 0. It was like a frame perfect press though, really hard to get.

Also at my work there’s someone who likes to leave it at 0:01. When I come in in the morning and it displays that I don’t know the time. Gr. Use the little red button kthx

  • I don’t think my job is particularly inportant, but I’m definitely proud to do it. I work in repair at a small model train electronics producer. I fix the electronics for customers and also do a bit of customer support.

Unlike a lot of companies where you just get crappy outsourced call center support and if your thing’s broken you just get a new one (with all your settings reset of course), my company actually fixes people’s stuff. I love that I get to do that, and individually help people. It’s also stimulating because customers manage the weirdest things sometimes, and I get to figure out what, why, and how.

  • Thank you for asking this, you just reminded me of an adjacent question I have.

As for silicone ones vs. plastic: I can never get the plastic ones to stay in, and they also have just about 0 bass since they don’t seal, so in that sense I prefer silicone ones.

However I don’t get how people can do any movement with them in and not get annoyed by the very loud rumbling noise they make since they seal up the ears. Walking, and even touching the wires… any slight movement of the earbuds against the ear is very loud.

My ideal solution are not fully sealing silicone buds so they stay in but don’t do that very loud rumbling. Unfortunately that’s nigh impossible to get.

Anyone else have trouble with that?

  • I have 2700k spots at my work desk’s soldering station, I honestly couldn’t tell you why but I prefer it. Maybe because I’ve always had warm lighting when soldering. Makes me wanna get neutral or cold spots and try that for a change.

For me the bigger issue is light intensity, I swear the old lighting setup at that work desk was as bright as a grave light… dunno how anyone could use that.

  • A puzzle game where each (2D) map spawns with lasers and corresponding targets, and sometimes mirrors etc. You get to place some mirrors, T pieces, beam splitters etc. and have to fulfill each target.

There are so many clones of this out now it’s nigh impossible to find, especially as the game is literally just called Laser. This one’s also a clone I think but I just love this particular one.

I did recently finally find it again after more than a decade of looking.
