I just started the demo to the Pokemon Shard fan game. It’s looks pretty nice and plays nice as well.

I also just started playing the Dungeon Clawler beta update with the new fire character. So far, fire is a weak debuff that I could never see myself playing with intentionally.

Also just went through and got the last ducks I needed to unlock the credits level of Fling To The Finish and I think it’s clever to make the end credits a playable level that doesn’t feel out of place.

Otherwise, I have made some progress on Toon Town Rewritten. Slowly slogging and grinding my way through.

I view music as both art and content, considering I’m basically always listening to it in my free time if I’m not watching or listening to a video. I absolutely LOVE it!

Normally, before a couple Christmases ago, I would just buy some wired Sony headphones and call it a day because they just worked. Exception being a pair of Skull Candy headphones I bought because I’ve been unable to get the headphone jack working on my laptop after installing Linux, but that’s off topic.

A couple Christmases ago I got a pair of over the ear Beats ( usually prefer in ear, but whatever, it was a gift ). They have basically been exclusively what I use to listen to everything on my devices that have Bluetooth capabilities. They are the absolute best headphones I have ever owned.

My tastes aren’t as varied as others, but I still have a wide variety of over 500 unique songs on the SD on my phone from over the years. Everything from various Chinese and Japanese songs using things like Vocaloid, UTAU, DeepVocal, etcetera, to 90s music from For Squirrels to R.E.M. to Soul Coughing, to anime music to a little bit of Sonic music.

I know this will kinda dox ( doxx? ) where I was for Thanksgiving, but I went for the 2nd time to a Thanksgiving Throwdown while visiting family and saw a group local to that city live for a second time. I bought a couple of their albums last year and highly recommend the album Convalescence from The Nixon Rodeo, especially their song Deafening ( available on yt ). I would describe it as emotionally hard rock.

I was also a music kid when I was in public school. Besides the mandatory music classes I had in elementary school, I joined that school’s drama/choir for maybe a year or two, and went from 5th-12th in orchestra. Don’t have my viola anymore because I lost it in a rush move, but I now have an acoustic guitar that I’ve had for about a half a year now. Haven’t done much with it since I don’t have the money for lessons or any books to help me learn, but I’m hoping to get at least one book this Christmas. I’d go online, but with the rise of AI slop and low effort things that don’t teach you a damn thing, I’d rather get some books to start.

So, given my background, I can’t not think of music as an art.

360 is definitely my favorite retro console, hands down, due to nostalgia. Feels kinda weird calling it retro, but that’s neither here nor there for me. I never had xboxlive, so playing online was never a thing for me.

Out of any console out there, it’s absolutely the one I’ve played the most, by a pretty bug margin if I had to guess. Somehow I’ve played it more than my 2nd favorite retro console: PS2.

I might make some people feel old, but I was in elementary school when my family somehow got a white model with the hard drive attached to the top whatever year that was, that December. I also don’t remember how we got our black 360 with the seemingly safer internal removable hard drive, but I absolutely LOVE it all these years later.

I think I would absolutely cry if I lost the hard drive for it because of just how much memories are on it. It would be worse than the feeling I got when I realized I lost the memory card for the family PS2 because I didn’t pack it in my backpack before being forced to move.

So, in the apartment complex I live in, US, we have 2 dumpsters where everyone dumps basically anything and everything, regardless of whether it should be recycled or whatever else. I’m personally not the biggest fan of that, but what can you do when even basically all the maintenance people have stopped working here, telling you how it’s run here?

I personally hate it because they don’t get emptied frequently enough that it will absolutely overflow from lazy people of all types not wanting to throw their trash into the back half of the damn dumpsters! And don’t even get me started on people not breaking down boxes, which is something your supposed to do, even though it’s not enforced. Wouldn’t mind if they did enforce it somehow, though.

From what I’ve heard, various mods were literally forcibly removed from their position and the mod having a temper tantrum basically ended up trying to loop them into his delusions. Assuming it’s true, sounds like this person wanted to take down as many people as they could with them in some petty game.

The people who think they can just cure mental illness like depression by saying things like “have you tried not being sad?” or “have you tried smiling more?” instead of actually being sympathetic and understanding.

I don’t have any mental illness that would attract those people, but I still find they have very punchable faces.

Also, since I am out of practice since I haven’t played for over a decade, I am currently absolutely hating Ulala from Space Channel 5 because of Sega Superstars Tennis, xbox360. Specifically because of the vs mode on normal difficulty and her getting her useless ability way too quickly and my ability being useless because the game decides my shots deserve to go directly to the other player with zero chance of going where I want it to.

If you want any games for switch to work as intended, without a bunch of lag or any major fiddling to get that one specific game to work, switch/2 is sadly the only way to go.

As for the deck route, absolutely depends on various things. Is she okay with piracy and will she know? Do y’all plan on using it just for switch emulation or are there other games on other consoles/Steam/other storefronts that are gonna be emulated/installed? If yes to questions like that, deck would be the way to go. More bang for your buck due to not being limited to a single games ecosystem.

Also, another thing to think about, is that there are current, IIRC, Zer0 switch 2 emulators that can do much of anything, so you’d have to emulate the switch 1 version of games on something like Ryubing Ryujinx. Do you wanna wait for a switch 2 emulator that might not be able to run that less popular title you like because they’re focusing on the big triple AAA titles? Good to keep this in mind, IMO.

Not doing it for search engines currently, but I am absolutely doing it for a VPN ( Proton ) for the bonus of having better drive and email attached.

I will agree with you on trusting Proton more than google and how suspicious Proton can seem.

I don’t havebit and that’s probably for the best, but in 2D art class my senior year we were supposed to research and recreate a piece from our favorite artist that doesn’t do exclusively digital art.

So I did my favorite artist, who is still my favorite: Panda Paco. If I remember correctly, he’s From Guadalajara, Mexico. He does a lot of digital and traditional art and can be found on sites like FurAffinity or Weasyl or just even the basic DeviantArt.

I recreated one of his digital pieces. When our school had a thing whereart class students could enter their workin it, I wanted to enter the piece I copied because of how proud I was, but refused because it wasn’t an original piece.

Though if we’re also talking college as well, back in 2019, I did a fundamentals of drawing class in which we did a charcoal reduction drawing where we had a bunch of white objects of various shapes in the center of the room and had to dk reduction using an eraser on the charcoal covering the whole page. It was my absolute favorite assignment we did that whole course.

People using genAI without a care came about as a result of the genAI companies making millions of fake accounts across all of mainstream social media and performing the greatest astroturfing ever, in their favor.

The majority of actual human interaction in the future will be secretly held in spaces run under things like Usenet, I2P, Gopher, etcetera. A way to detect bots/genAI will become a game of whack-a-mole and it’ll help keep these treasures safer than 99% of the internet.

Anubis ( or whatever it’s called ) becomes a government funded project, with the goal being that government websites are spared from rampant AI bots crashing their sites. The downside is that it would most likely become closed source in order to ensure genAI companies cannot come in and use the source code to break through it.

Wikipedia joins one of the alternate internet things ( maybe I2P ) and poisons its own services, leaving ample notice of what they’re gonna do, but not where they’re going, to keep safe from the bots. It’ll become a race to find where and when Wikipedia becomes available again. This is more of a firm pipedream, but I hope they do it for their own good.

Visiting the clear web essentially becomes a crime amongst all tech savy people and you’ll absolutely be casted out of the safe spaces if you venture out of a genAI free Haven.

Or most likely out of everything, in a decade or less, the clock strikes midnight and once the dust settles, everyone left alive will be afraid when the wind blows.

This is why everything gets put into their own directory branch… and why I sometimes forget my pokemon fan games are for some reason in my Ankama folder for whatever reason.

Nothing like a prime minister saying they need to prepare just in case something happens and their neighbor jumps to the worst conclusions and throws around insults and threats like they’re going out of style.

I mean, a temporary reset is possible, but nobody, myself included, wants that because it would involve destroying every single digital storage device and completely wiping away everything.

Younger people¹ playing loud music on the bus without headphones or using speaker phone will temporarily freak out because they have for gotten where they last had their wallet before getting on the bus. Even if they use a digital bus pass, they’ll still freak out because a wallet is your life.

No wallet? Then forget the memory of where they are headed. Not my fault you want to be a nuisance. Have fun trying to figure out where you’re going.

Also, if it’s for social media and I can see/recognize which social media it is, I will erase your memory of your account password, username, any recovery options, 2fa, ectetera, as well and help you by being a kind person and helping figure out how to use your phone, only to log you out of your account if you’re dumb enough to hand me your phone.
