To put it more simply: if you’re hungry and I bring you sandwich and demand that you eat it, telling me “leave the sandwich, I’ll eat it if I want, but I’m not giving you the satisfaction of knowing or seeing me eat it because of how you approached me” is the smart move.

It’s pathetic that you think my personal utility isn’t also built on the expectations and thoughts of those around me. You disregarding an essential part of life doesn’t make me irrational, in fact it makes me more rational than you, who is only selfishly considering your own personal gain. Your model is simply incomplete, and your wilful ignorance added together with your false sense of superiority is exactly what makes my blood boil.
