Hypothetically, what would it look like if they could only use “low drag mode” while clipping? Maybe even reduce the harvesting rate to try and balance it with effective delta in power they get from the reduced drag. Overall speed on the straights would be lower, but there wouldn’t be such a noticeable slowing when harvesting.

Not at all saying that’s what they should do, but just an idea that might address how weird super clipping looks

Turn 3 taking names. I didn’t get a chance to watch fp1, but in fp2 the Ferrari didn’t look like anything special. Also it seemed like everyone was sliding off the track. I know practice is for finding the limits, but seems like more offs than usual. Did fp1 have as much carnage?

Eh I do like the idea of the cars being hybrid, but I think they went way too far with it. I would love for the cars to be v8 or v10 with a light hybrid system. One that’s really only able to store enough energy from one heavy braking zone, and good for only a few seconds of deployment, something like a 50kw motor with a 100wh battery. The drivers could choose to either use that energy immediately on corner exit, or try to save for an overtake later. But they would need to get rid of that energy before the next braking zone, otherwise they would have a full battery which means decreased braking performance.

I think that would give us dynamic racing, the screaming engines we all love, and still have the hybrid tech that they like advertising and is somewhat relevant to manufacturers, while still being lighter than the cars we have now

Cool, but good luck keeping that screen in good condition. To me handhelds should be a thing that can handle being chucked in a backpack. Bring back clamshells!

If you ever get the itch, I thought XII was better than X. But if you didn’t like X, you almost certainly won’t like any of the XIII series or XV. I haven’t played XVI or VII remake yet

And yeah X-2 was pretty bad. Of the ones I’ve played I think I’d only put XIII-2 behind it

They do look tricky in tight corners and in heavy braking. If it stays that way, I expect the first couple races to be total chaos

Cool that it’s a split livery, but it really could use some color. The liveries on their wec cars are pretty cool, would’ve loved to see something more similar to those.

Is it even a hot take that I feel better about that than just forcing the AI or whatever to just make a decision and run with it? I feel that just about any human, whether they know US traffic laws or not, will do a better job in edge cases than AI.

But I don’t like that they’re allowed on the road at all. But unfortunately in americaland if the company has deep enough pockets there are no rules.
