Probably because they care more about getting you to click than about what content they offer. You enter thinking you’ll find a culturally/geographically relevant answer to a question only to find something that only applies to the US.
What annoys me the most is that it does it “transparently” and shows up on searches as if the thread was originally written in your language.
I think it’s the style of English language headlines that substitute the “and” for a comma, I find them extremely confusing.

I think you didn’t get what the writer is trying to convey: they are saying that they tried putting all that bigotry on their profile and Grindr let it slide.
