Yes but I don’t want to get rid of my getty ttys, so that is a better alternative for me. Perhaps for others too.

If you dont feel too happy about owning a Pixel phone; I would also suggest a Fairphone with CalyxOS as an alternative.
Oh that would be illegal. Simply deflating them doesn’t cause damage and achieves the same effect.
