Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you prefer to wear a smartwatch or a regular watch?
4·2 years agoI use a cheap, lower end Fitbit. I like the cheap one because it’s low profile, the screen is nice and small.
I do use it for time constantly but the other features are nice too. I can read, but not reply, to texts. I’m notified of an incoming call. I do use the step counter and hourly activity reminders to make sure I move enough at my sedentary job. The stopwatch feature is great for in-between sets at the gym. I like knowing my heart rate too when I’m working out.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you work full-time and stay awake all shift?
9·2 years agoFirst things first, do you get enough sleep at night?
I work a desk job and do consistently get pretty drowsy around 2pm. I find that eating a lighter lunch and moving around keeps me awake. Take a walk around the building or something, it’s bad for you to sit all day long anyways. I drink an energy drink every day as soon as I get in but I don’t know what effect, if any, it has on my afternoon drowsiness.
I’m a woman who just wanted to be strong and I found that hiring a personal trainer was best for me. Not only do they tell you what to do but they walk you through the exercises. Having good form is really important.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Most people rather be electronically shocked than left alone with their thoughts?
4·2 years agoOk, but how painful is the shock? If it’s only mildly uncomfortable then this isn’t surprising at all.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever dumped a job right after youve been hired?
3·2 years agoYep! I have left two jobs within the first week. Life is too short to waste it on bullshit.
Nope! Not once since the blackout began.
I know, hence the quote on my profile:
“It’s not the end of the world but you can see it from here.”
The range for livable temperatures follows a more reasonable scale. Hot is really high numbers. Cold is low. The exact temperature is more precise because the range is larger.
Celsius is fine for scientists but for the regular person Fahrenheit has a better range.
Also I’m biased.
Fahrenheit is better. Fight me
