  • It is a trait of you, but the way you describe it you are not able to deal with said trait. I do like the idea of learning to live with it, doesn’t work all the time though.

All the strategies in the world won’t help if you can’t reliably adhere to them. For example, allocating time in the future to do a task, doesn’t work if you can’t rely on actually starting and finishing that task. It’s a really powerful strategy when it works, but for me it only works since I’ve gotten medicated.

Unless your surroundings can accommodate such situations, meaning someone else picks up what you couldn’t finish for example, learning to deal with the trait probably won’t work in the long run.

  • In theory an infinite amount of different waveforms. But practically speaking, no one would be able to distinguish them by ear, and even oscilloscopes have limited resolution.

Music is super complex and can’t even be described by a single or a few waveforms, unless it’s very simple. Another simplified way to explain all the sounds of music fitting on one “waveform” is to imagine the high frequency stuff happening in between the low frequency stuff. And usually the different instruments and voices don’t happen all at once, they happen slightly one after another, or in sync but intentionally so they affect each other the “right” way. Whatever the “right” way is…

  • Idk anything about your life right now, so if you’ve heard the following a thousand times already, I’m sorry.

I’ve been in a similar situation roughly 2 years ago, although I’ve had a good amount of old friendships, but also too tired to meet any of them. Work and household was just too much.

So I stopped working with the explicit goal to deal with my fucked mental health. (If you can’t do that cause your country doesn’t help people who need help I’m doubly sorry) It wasn’t easy, but it did get better, a lot better. Just took forever(3yrs).

It really helped to find groups with similar problems and/or interests. Can be a huge step obviously but ever since then I am struggling to decide who to spend time with. And queer safe spaces tend to attract really friendly people.

At any rate, I needed a lot of help, coming from a lot of sources. It feels like you are in a similar situation, so you probably need lots of help too. Reach out and ask for it nobody can help you if they don’t know you need and want it.

Good luck on your journey, please continue, it’ll be worth it.

  • That’s not quite correct, every ice car has a mechanism to disconnect the engine from the wheels.

Manuals typically use a clutch to archive this. For the longest time automatic transmissions haven’t though, instead they use a torque converter. Which also is a type of clutch obviously, but not what people usually refer to when they use the term clutch.

There also are automated manuals and dual clutch transmissions, but those are more modern…

Too lazy to find sources rn, but if anyone wants to know more I’ll provide some.

Tbh, reasoning and thinking is hard work, even if you learned how to.

And it’s getting increasingly harder to find reliable information, so you have to check the sources of your sources. And at some point down the rabbit hole stuff gets real complex, and maybe, you still haven’t figured out what’s true…

So the layman has to trust someone, and in our age of disinformation, someone isn’t necessarily trustworthy. So between the day to day struggles and constant indoctrination, I get why people just hear what they want to hear. Still doesn’t excuse it though.
