I’ve been using Thunder, which I find after tweaking the settings can be fairly close to Eternity (though not exactly the same, of course). It’s been working pretty well for me. Like Eternity, FOSS with no ads/tracking, which is important to me.

Not a near-term solution, but the Free Software Foundation just announced the LibrePhone project!

Piefed is a different piece of software from Lemmy, and an app supporting one will not necessarily support the other. They have different APIs.
Eternity is a Lemmy-specific app, and one that has been unmaintained for around a year, so I wouldn’t expect Piefed support anytime soon. I recently begrudgingly switched to a different app despite eternity being my favorite user experience, because it doesn’t support image proxying (which lemmy.zip uses) and will probably not be updated again.

This is exactly why giving ID scans to online sevices is a terrible idea, even ignoring the privacy aspect.

The only videogame my dad has ever gotten into (other than Pong) was NFS II SE. He wouldn’t race, he just liked driving around at 35 MPH and looking at the scenery. He enjoyed this so much he bought a wheel and pedals for it. I loved this game as a kid, and the fact that I could play it with a wheel. The song “Headless Horse” off the soundtrack is pure 90s cool as well.

Thank you for posting, I’ve never heard a name put to this ideology before, which I bought into wholeheartedly in the 2000s-2010s.
I think at this point time has shown that it is absolutely false, at least in terms of it being a force that can override the fundamental dynamics of capitalism.
