There are many distros that have said they will not implement the age attestation/verification feature into the distro. Many distros are not developed/located in the US, therefore they do not have to comply. The link below is kept updated to show which OSes will or will not comply

Btw, Pop OS has said they will comply and add age attestation in case you weren’t aware.

15·6 days agoCame to Linux about a year ago and couldn’t really be happier. Will never use Windows again. Everything runs better, some things take a little work to get working but worth it in the end to avoid Microslop and I feel like I actually own my pc and not forced to do what Microshit forces. Also use GrapheneOS on my phone and its a blessing as well having no Google crap dependencies, etc.

1·14 days agoBeen using Wholphin for a few months now and its been great. Like it alot better than the official Jellyfin app, although the official app is still good too.
If you’re big into music, you should add slskd to your stack. Its not automated but you can find anything on it. It uses Soulseek servers and is p2p like old Napster, etc.
For usenet, I like SabNZBD better than NZBGet, just my opinion but maybe check it out.
Could possibly be a driver issue or something with Linux, Idk Im not entirely knowledgable of it all yet, only been using Linux about a year. I understand though, there were times where I almost considered reinstalling Windows to run something but just stuck it out until I got something to work if it doesnt. Village for whatever reason worked fine for me though without issue.
Weird, Village runs just fine on my CachyOS setup.
Do it! You will not miss Microslop. I’ve been running Linux for about a year now and do not miss Windows. There’s some learning to do and some things may take a little work to work right but thats being resolved more and more every day and its worth it. I run my main gaming PC on CachyOS and my media server on Mint and its just great. Will never go back to Microshit.

Nice link here as just one example plus the whole forcing age verification in everything, the list goes on.

21·22 days agoYes it is, but f-droid isnt as recommended as getting it from the source. F-Droid is fine but Obtainium with direct from github is better.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Fennec on graphene wants me to install unified push. Should I?
3·22 days agoExcept Accrescent isn’t owned by GOS or affiliated with them. Its just a recommended app store by GOS on top of GOS’ own app store and in general for people not on GOS. Ironfox is also available directly from github and Obtainium can be used to install and update Ironfox from github along with other apps directly from github.

3·2 months agoYes, they have alot of people to help archive for the new site. They just posted that the best way to help is to use their script to take some of the workload off the site and increase speeds. Minerva, that is.

Slskd
It uses the soulseek servers. Can run your own instance in a docker container. I listen to metal daily and you can find anything from other soulseek users.
