They know people will do this. It’s only stage 1. After this system is integrated, they will complain that people are misusing the feature and it needs to be upgraded to ID or biometrics. Boiling the frog.

I agree. Rockstar makes truly impressive games, but I can’t get into them. The characters and stories have no redeeming qualities from what I could tell.
It really is quite vile, isn’t it?

No job, no problem. We’ll just need to learn how to live like children again; make and meet up with friends to play sports, hang out, etc. We need other people to provide meaning in our lives, so it will happen.

Yep. This is just the first. As long as individuals submit to these ID verifications, services which provide them will be highly targeted. I find it ridiculous that 1.5 million people actually submitted their info to access discord instead of finding a workaround or alternative. I can only imagine how many are gullible enough to verify on porn sites.
One reason you’re noticing a homogeneity of opinions on here is the fact that Lemmy isn’t botted like larger social networks. Larger networks have bots farms pushing all sorts of narratives for various reasons, and the one thing they accel at is finding people to argue with.
You are also certainly in a bubble on Lemmy. You have to know it exists and care enough to use it over other platforms. Most people choose the path of least resistance.
