Depends on your perspective. I consider taking time to read a book or doing some gardening to be bettering oneself. A 5am run would benefit me to be in better shape, but it deprives me of an hour of sleep.

A lot of tech evolves and changes quickly, and a whole lot of people just dont like change, especially as they get older. It is also harder to learn new things as you get older. While it doesn’t apply across the board, the “can’t teach an old dog” addage generally holds true. This is not something that will go away. If you dont want to become that person, continue to exercise your brain as you age, and learning new tricks will be easier.
Don’t forget the massive gambling problem.

Hey! Listen!

No, I dont and won’t use them. The worst part about these apps is that I now question the legitimacy of sports. I am not confident that the athletes are able to resist the temptation to throw a game.

Not until the price of electricity drops to the same price of gas.

The classic margarita. Tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and just a little bit of sweetener to take the edge off the acidity, or omit it altogether. Serve over ice.
It comes from Wōdnesdæg, for the Germanic god Woden, aka Odin. I prefer Odin’s Day myself.
While knowledge of electricity dates back centuries, common electrification didn’t start until the 1880s when Canada, Australia, Japan, the UK, and the US each had a small rudimentary system in place, but the countries were hardly electrified. Since it’s not yet 2080, it cannot be said Africa has been denied electrification for centuries, just one century at best. From there i would have to ask why should it be Europe’s or China’s responsibility to electrify Africa? After visiting South Africa last year, and I cannot speak about other nations; it’s readily apparent that they themselves are the deniers of electricity and other pieces of modern infrastructure. I have no doubt or illusions that forces outside SA play a role in this, but the people and government of SA need to determine what it is they want.
The camping episode.
Roaches Georg has a serious problem! For the uninformed: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiders_Georg
I have also done the opposite, skipping places and avoiding fights because it was easier to do. Reach the first boss only to get completely annihilated.

My philosophy is that I need a job, but I don’t need this job. Its great to see people quit working for companies treating employees poorly.
Avatar The Last Airbender. An animated series with a complete story arch that takes place in a unique world. The characters are very relatable and have great development over time, even the villians are better than what most shows have. The animation is sophisticated in the way it is used to help tell the story, and the story is wonderful, it hooks you in from the intro:
“*Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world.”

A former boss: “If 24 hours a day is not enough, work nights”. I did not work there for long.
