2·2 days agoThe guide is for Piefed.social (I have an account there two).
I recommend avoiding the on-boarding and directly selecting the proposed gaming communities via links.
I will post in piefed_meta in the coming days. Maybe I can come up with a draft/mockup.
I can’t code, but I do have significant experience in dashboards and associated business logic (PowerBI, tablaeau, Looker Studio).

4·2 days agoThose are high level examples.
Last Firaxis game I bought was Civ6 and while I played it for 50 hours or so, I mostly play Civ5 and Civ4 (and a whole variety of mods/conversations).

5·3 days agoNot sure if there is any point in just posting the guide somewhere random.
Perhaps it would be best to reach out to the Piefed devs, maybe they might have a better idea how to integrate this into their on-boarding process.

Games@lemmy.world•Soulja Boy is selling video game consoles again, and he's already being accused of ripping off an existing handheld: "He does not have permission to rebrand our products and sell them as his own"English
8·4 days agoI am using the Piefed mobile web view (Voyager also sends me to Firefox for Android).
I don’t have any exotic lists in UBO. Just the major ones for English and some regional ones for languages that I speak.

Games@lemmy.world•What are your favorite games from a worldbuilding standpoint?English
11·6 days agoVampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines - probably the most cliche answer possible, but Troika really did build a game that took you to the world of vampires in LA in the early 2000s.
Arcanum - a fantasy world undergoing industrialization with technology being in direct conflict with magic.
UnderRail - A society stuck underground connected by tunnels between towns/cities and nodes. The writing (quests/characters) is not that great, but the world-building is top notch.

71·5 days agoI can’t wait till they add true turn based combat to Pillars of Eternity.
I played about 3-4 hours and the loved setting and the world, but the real time combat did not work for me.
I don’t mind real-time combat, but it has to be in third person.

9·6 days agoI don’t think it’s that popular, more like a cult classic of sorts.
Although I wouldn’t be surprised if it is better known in Scandinavia and parts of Eastern Europe.

Games@lemmy.world•Inside ARMSX2: Interviewing the Team Reviving PS2 Emulation on Android (my article!)English
1·8 days agoAfter some thinking, I decided to pursue a revival for PS2 emulation on Android devices. A little side note, I don’t use Android, I’ve been an iPhone user since I’d received my first phone, my intentions were for the community remaining in Aether, as well as the overall Android community given how AetherSX2 went down. I first tried by recruiting new developers but come to find out it’s not an easy task whatsoever. I did manage to recruit two developers to the initial project, but busy schedules and a lack of progress led to stagnation, so I put my ambitions on hold for the time being.
Interesting that one of the lead devs of a PS2 Android emulator uses an iPhone. Nothing wrong with that, just peculiar.

Games@lemmy.world•‘It’s about redemption’: Peter Molyneux says Masters of Albion will make up for decades of ‘overpromising on things’English
6·10 days agoIt’s pretty funny and it’s been around for many years. I remember seeing it in the early to mid 2010s.
There was a really funny one that went something along the lines of “Imagine if your played as the asphalt in a racing game.”

To be fair, lots of American media has rebellious motifs, but its mostly merely product packaging and doesn’t really reflect American society.
I lived in the US at one point and while repetition of various freedom themed polemics was extremely common (it initially got annoying, until I learned to simply filter it out), I didn’t really find the whole thing convincing. It felt more like posturing.
That being said, there is a lot of American literature, cinema and art more generally that is truly non-comfortmist.
