This is insane. I have two little kids that love to scream and play loudly. I go on vacations to places where kids can scream and play loudly with other kids

If people with no kids want to go relax in quiet in a place with no kids let them. Whoever is trying to prevent that should eat shit and then have to spend a week with an entire daycare of toddlers during cold a flu season and then see how they feel about people that don’t want to be around kids.

It’s a resort, not a tourist attraction. You can always find another place to stay. Don’t see the big deal.

(I say this as a parent myself)

Are bars, casinos and strip clubs intolerant too? There are just some places children don’t belong.

Rossignol said these resorts “allow people to say: ‘I don’t like children and I don’t want to see them.’

In my case, it’s closer to “I usually like children, but don’t want to be around obnoxious ones, or inconsiderate parents who don’t know how to handle their kids.”

An expert report last year on reducing French children’s screen-time said children must be given more alternatives to phones and take up their “rightful place” in society, including “their right to be noisy”.

Don’t I have a right to not be around that noise, especially while on a vacation that I’m paying for?

I don’t care much about children, but I live next to two kindergartens (is that the plural form? It would be Kindergärten in German) and one school. I’d really like to avoid them on my vacation. My solution is to avoid all people, but that can be a bit lonely.

    Children aren’t troublesome pets.

    Yes. Yes they are.

Many children are fine. But some are hellspawn. Because their parents aren’t doing their jobs. But we can’t have hotels with “hellish children banned” now can we. So we have to ban all of them.

A few years back I went to Grand Bahia Principe in Tulum, the resort mostly had adults and some young teens. The two Bahia resort next door had tons of kids and playgrounds. There was a fourth resort next door that was a bit of a trip on a cart to get to but it was fully adult only.

The only reason we didn’t do the adult only one was that they didn’t have walk out access to the beach.

    To paraphrase the Simpsons:

_To shut these down now would be twisted

    I just learned these places existed… _

(yeah, the song doesn’t quite scan now but I stand by it.)
