Rayhunter is a new open source tool we’ve created that runs off an affordable mobile hotspot that we hope empowers everyone, regardless of technical skill, to help search out cell-site simulators (CSS) around the world.

Amazing work, I would have bought one just for this if I lived in a city and not a suburb.

Looks great. I would love to run this, but I live in the middle of Woop Woop so I’m not sure how crucial any data I collect would be.

I assume a paid cellular service plan for the hotspot is required for it to connect to a cell tower?

So the hotspot needs a SIM card, right? Is the idea to use the SIM card in this and then connect to it from your phone?
