I just spent three hours trying to update the firmware on my Dell dock from a Linux environment. Solution: quietly weep, revert to Windows (for a few minutes to run the .exe from Windows boot disk).
Before anyone starts trying to troubleshoot it, yes, I tried all the things in fwupdmgr. Even went so far as to install snap because Dell’s Linux tool required it, and that failed as well.
Harvey Norman has the option to sort their computers by Operating System
Is the only difference is Home has an Office Suite? And Pro has extra support?
Pro has hyper-v, rdp server, and a bunch of extra mmc snapins like local group policy management. There’s no reason to ever use home.
I used home because the laptop came with it. Then I wanted a different group policy and my windows said “what you talking about Willis”
It’s cheaper, so if you’re not keen on crime, that’s a reason.
Maybe this is outdated information but I remember Home used to limit the amount of RAM it was allowed to use :)
Yeah I think that ended after XP, so it’s p out of date lol
It was a thing on 7 as well.
Oh hahaha fair enough
The first item on the list is probably also just home but they don’t want to confuse people. So really you have lots of consumer machines, and 3 business machines.
