Joining forces from three other Republican-led states, the Mississippi National Guard will deploy 200 troops to Washington as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing federal policing and immigration overhaul in the nation’s capital.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in a statement Monday that he has approved the deployment of approximately 200 Mississippi National Guard Soldiers to Washington, D.C.

“Crime is out of control there, and it’s clear something must be done to combat it,” Reeves said.

Mississippi joins three other states that have pledged to deploy hundreds of National Guard members to the nation’s capital to bolster the Republican administration’s operation aiming to transform policing in the Democratic-led city through a federal crackdown on crime and homelessness.

Seriously? Mississippi going to DC to tell them how to run a city? I say this as somebody in Louisiana who has spent most of my life in the deep south surrounded by a glass house, but everybody knows you need to focus on getting your shit together.

Mississippi has the second highest homicide rate in the country and they’re sending troops to DC to harass the homeless and anyone with brown skin. Maybe deal with your own shitty state first before invading others.

I’m from there. Many people there genuinely believe Mississippi is a better, safer State than most others in the country. And they absolutely believe Trump is saving the US from the liberals.

I cannot stress that enough, they actually believe progressives have been ruining the country since the 90s and that conservatives have been trying to save it.

I’m curious how it goes when you try reasoning with anyone. Do they just brush off what you say as lies?

Many people are so indoctrinated or poorly educated, or both, that they think you’re the one who’s ignorant or spreading misinformation. In my experience, at least.

Well, Mississippi is also one of the worst ranked in education.

You can’t reason people out of positions they didn’t reason themselves into.
