    Automobile crash deaths are far more common in the US than in Canada — and the divide is widening.

    That is the striking conclusion of a new study produced through a collaboration between the US Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) and the Canadian Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF). Its findings raise new questions about why Canada’s progress saving lives is not being felt south of border.
