A Washington state mother and her 6-year-old son have been released after spending more than three weeks in US immigration detention due to a brief trip to Canada and a small paperwork mistake, her attorney told CNN on Saturday.
Yeah, it’ll be kids in jail for a month and God knows what conditions that dilly facility is in.
Traveling on a well expired visa is going to get you a hearing, and with all the other shenanigans they have going on that’s taking a lot longer than it should. Without any legal family in the States they’re either going to be detained with her or put in social services. I wonder if the grandparents could have managed to take them until it was sorted.
