I was about to pivot to the proton-sphere, and then their leadership and the company in general got all… fascist-appeasing. It put me off.
If email is all you want, Tuta Mail is a good alternative with a free tier.

Yeah but you’re going to be forever going “tango uniform tango alpha” to everyone on the phone. At least people know how to spell gmail.
