I fear we already crossed that line some time ago when the established parties used immigration as the scapegoat for pretty much everything that supposedly goes wrong in the country.
Now it’s really hard to go back.
This legitimizes the argument to those “promoting” and benefiting from making immigration a central political issue. Not smart.
