Maybe it’s always been melting pot, but it threw Japanese Americans into concentration camps during our grandparents lifetimes. This shit is a time honored American tradition too.
Yeah, doing a thing once (and later having the Supreme Court reverse their original ruling, and have the government formally apologize) does not make for a “time honored American tradition.”
But yes, I’m aware that the US has done (and continues to do) awful shit.
